It may seem a strange thing to say, but I enjoy proofreading; when I started writing my books I discovered it can be really tricky to spot errors in your own work.
I have a lot of experience in proofreading small to large pieces of writing, and I make comments using MS Word (Comments) however I always point out that the originator should look over my suggestions and decide for themselves if they wish to go ahead with my suggestion(s) or not - after all, I'm not the originator, it's their piece of work and not mine.
I am also an academic mentor; I support university students that find their studies a challenge, maybe they have a learning difference that stands in between them and seeing a piece of work through to completion. Some students have trouble starting a piece of work, or have difficulty breaking down an assignment brief, or struggling to put together references - in text and on a reference page or it could be time management or organisational issues. I support students via Zoom or Teams.
Please remember one thing when considering sending me a draft of your work,
I do not proofread pornography, horror, violence or racist (etc) material.
Email me and we can discuss your piece of work, the time frame and cost. If the work is urgent, this will add to the cost - also, you are responsible for the content of the written piece. I'm not a content writer, but I am pretty efficient on context.
For proofreading, my terms are 50% of the cost before I start the work, then when I have completed the work I require the remaining 50% cleared in my company account before I send the work back, this way I ensure that I get paid for the work that I do.
